If you remember my post about the banned ingredients Food Babe found in U.S. products but not in U.K. products this should sound familiar… Hari and Leake found that Kraft uses artificial food dyes Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 in their U.S. version of Mac and Cheese, but not in their U.K. version. Why? Because our friends overseas demanded they be removed.
Artificial food dyes serve no purpose other than aesthetics, meaning, all the dyes do is make your mac and cheese more yellow. Studies have shown that artificial dyes lead to hyperactivity in children and have even been linked to causing cancer.
From the above link you can also sign the petition demanding Kraft to remove the dyes fro the U.S. product. I did! Go ahead and sign the petition, if the U.K. could demand the safer version of mac and cheese so can we!
Remember eating this yellow stuff as a kid?!? … or freshman year…
